Samantha Ruth Prabhu to play dual roles in Vijay Milton's upcoming project

Southern films are known to have male actors in double roles mostly but this time it is an exception in Vijay Milton’s upcoming project. This film will reportedly star actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu in a double role.

Her characters in the film are quite important and play a significant part in the film. As told by a source, "Yes, she is doing a dual role in the film. When Vijay narrated the script, she was thrilled about the fact that she would get to essay two characters." An insider also said, "Vijay Milton has completed the first schedule of the film with Vikram and Pasupathy, who is also playing a major character. After Dhool and Majaa, Pasupathy and Vikram are teaming up for the third time. The film is a travel based story and we will be traveling extensively across the country. Since it will be more like a road trip, Sam and Vikram will not sport flashy costumes in this film. They will be seen in the same outfit in almost all the scenes."

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is in love with Tamil cinema

Telugu film industry’s leading actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has just completed a lengthy shooting schedule for her upcoming film Anjaan and she is in awe of Tamil cinema as well as her co-star Suriya.
Samantha faced no difficulty in confessing that, "All of us have heard about his professionalism and that he's a gentleman, but after working with him, I realised he's much more than that. The humility with which he carries himself on the sets and how he performs in front of the camera, everything seems like a benchmark for me.” It’s a known fact that Samantha is not the main character of Anjaan but still she is quite certain that her character will "make a big impression even if the screen time is less." She said about her role, "Like most Lingusamy's films, my characterisation is quite spunky and full of life."

Last year Samantha expressed her wish that she is willing to work more in Tamil films by taking a break from Telugu projects. Her wish seems to have been fulfilled now. The actress said, "I love the direction in which Tamil cinema is heading these days. Recently, when I saw Goli Soda, I couldn't stop raving about it for a long time. I really like the fact that all sorts of films have their own space in Tamil. The offers that I got in Tamil were too tempting to let go. I'm in a happy space right now.” When asked if she will not be seen in commercial films anymore the actress disclosed, "Not really. Most of my films in Telugu this year are big action entertainers. I'm eagerly looking forward to Manam. I've never worked so hard on my character. I think all of us (ANR, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya) surprised ourselves while acting in the film. It'll make you smile in the end.

No Bollywood dreams for Sam

The actress, who recently refused an offer in Hindi, says she is happy with her projects in Tamil & Telugu

Most of the South Indian actresses may be frantically trying to expand their reach and popularity in Bollywood, but Samantha Ruth Prabhu belongs to a different ilk. The actress has made it clear that she would like to pursue her career in Telugu and Tamil movies.

Samantha was recently approached for a Hindi movie to be produced by a leading South-based banner.
However, according to sources, the actress politely turned down the offer. The actress's career graph is at its peak and her hands are full with Telugu and Tamil projects. Samantha is candid about her lack of interest in Bollywood.
"Mumbai is home to heroines like Kajal and Tamannaah. Just like I want to do more work in South, they are keen on doing films in Hindi which is their mother tongue. I am not keen on going to B-town. I am not even tempted to make an attempt," she said.
Her stand is logical, given that most of the South-based actors, who have tried to make it big in Bollywood, are facing several hurdles despite being part of multiple hits. Tamannaah debuted opposite Ajay Devgn through Himmatwala, which bombed at the box office.

Though Tamannaah enjoys cult following in South, she is desperately trying her luck in Bollywood. Now, she is part of Humshakals, a multi-starrer movie, which she would have easily said 'no' if produced in South.
Kajal Agarwal's career in Hindi movies is not heading in the right direction despite being part of two hits - Singham and Special 26.
Though Asin has been part of several blockbusters, the fact remains that she is yet to leave her mark in Mumbai. Amala Paul and Pranitha Subhash are keen on making a career in Hindi movies and are knocking the doors of leading banners.
"On the contrary, Samantha need not experiment with her career by venturing into Hindi movies as she has cemented her place in South. If at all something interesting comes her way, she may think about it. But she is not chasing Bollywood offers," one of her casting managers said. For the record, Samantha has four South movies in her kitty.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu to romance Vikram?

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu may romance actor Vikram soon on screen. Cinematographer-director Vijay Milton is planning to rope in the actress to play the female lead in his film opposite Vikram. Milton himself confirmed the news piece, “I will be narrating the script to Samantha in the coming week.”

At present, the 26-year-old beauty is busy in filming for seven films. She is simultaneously managing her work for Autonagar Surya, Manam, Untitled Santosh Srinivas’ project, Production No. 4, Anjaan, Kaththi and Untitled Trivikram’s project. It appears that the actress is pretty much in demand these days. In spite of having so many flicks in her kitty, more and more makers are approaching Samantha to pull her in for their respective projects.
